Do you yearn for thick narratives and mature stories? Are you a bad enough dude to solve really tough puzzles? Do you like pretty things? If you answered yes to all three of these, perhaps “Bound” is exactly what you’re after.
According to Michal ‘bonzaj’ Staniszewski from Plastic, Bound is a 3D platformer for people who want to focus on “the narrative side of games” and “experience a mature story.” You might think that means it’s an artsy walk-em-up, but fear not! Bound’s definitely not designed for accessibility per se. Staniszewski explains that Bound is “being prepared for hardcore gamers looking for the challenge of one big puzzle that can be only solved by a community of players working together.” Here’s the trailer:

Staniszewski says that “if you are interested in art movements such as Suprematism, Concretism, Neoplasticism or what Bauhaus has delivered, then you are going to love the world that we have created”. The main character is a ballerina modeled after dancer Maria Udod, and the soundtrack is a blend of electroacoustic music by Oleg ‘Heinali’ Shpudeiko. Last but not least, the game will be running at 60 Hz in 1080p and will “squeeze most of your PS4.”
You may recall that back in October, Sony trademarked a game called “Bound” that would, according to the trademark filed with the US Patent & Trademark Office, work by “Operating a real-time game for others over global and local area computer networks.” There’s no explicit mention of multiplayer in the blog post, but it wouldn’t be a stretch to suggest that the game might feature some sort of online component, given the description in its trademark.
