Try before you die
Incuvo Games has released a brand new gameplay trailer for the upcoming VR adaptation of Green Hell – Green Hell VR – as well as a free playable demo that is available via Steam as part of this year’s Steam Next Fest.
Set to release sometime in 2022 for Steam VR and Oculus, Green Hell VR takes players on a vacation they won’t forget. Well, it’s more like a living nightmare in a tropical setting, but that is undoubtedly something nobody would forget, right?
You take on the role of anthropologist Jake Higgins who has been studying the Amazon rainforest for a few years. Things go sideways fast and he – and you – must adapt to survive the dangers of the rainforest. Whether that’s fending off the indigenous tribespeople, or fending off starvation and dehydration, there’s no such thing as an easy time in Green Hell VR.
My colleague Stuart reviewed the non-VR version of the game a while back for PS4/PS5 and found the experience to be top-tier, difficult, and rewarding. Will the VR rendition live up to the same standards? We’ll have to wait and see, but in the meantime, there’s a new trailer showing off some of the game’s VR features, as well as a free demo so you can have a taste of hell for yourself.
