Animal Crossing Scorpion Season
Scorpions are available to catch on northern hemisphere islands from May to October. On the southern hemisphere islands, the months are from November to April.
Across both hemispheres, they are available from 7 pm to 4 am.
They are worth 8,000 Bells each, making them one of the most profitable bugs to sell in the game. This profit is increased by a further 150% if sold to Flick during Bug Off events, or his random island visits.
Bug Off events occur during June, July, August, and September during which, Flick will offer to buy any bugs from the player or make commissioned bug statues for them for a fee.
Animal Crossing: How To Catch a Scorpion
As with any other bug, Scorpions are caught with a net. The player will have to approach the Scorpion with their nets raised and drop the net when close enough to the Scorpion to catch it but not close enough to trigger the Scorpion.
By holding down A with your net in your hand, you’ll be able to perform the sneak action, meaning your movement speed will be slower which allows you to sneak up on bugs.
If the player gets too close the Scorpion will chase and stun the player before you can catch it. To avoid this, timing is everything. Take a measured pace and try not to be too eager with the net.

Animal Crossing: Scorpion Tips and Cheats
It is possible to stop a Scorpion from chasing you if you dig a hole next to it to trap it. With this mechanic, many players pre-emptively dug holes around them to form a wall of protection so they can catch Scorpions without fear of being stunned.
This is a great method if used properly. You can dig holes in a rough circle on your island, then trigger the Scorpion to chase after you, during which you can then retreat behind your dugout holes. Then watch as the Scorpion cannot get close enough to stun you, but you can safely drop a net on them.
Animal Crossing: Scorpion Island
Scorpion Island is the Scorpion version of Tarantula Island, a coined term from fans to describe the randomly generated island with a seemingly unending supply of generated Tarantulas. Scorpion Island in a similar suit is a generated island you can visit from the airport in exchange for a Nook Miles Ticket. This island has a large natural population of Scorpions that can be caught for a massive yield of Bells.
Getting to this island is a random chance of luck, meaning you’ll have to stock up on Nook Miles Tickets to try your luck at finding the island. Remember that Scorpions only spawn from 7 pm to 4 am, so don’t waste your tickets on daytime trips if you do try this technique to get Scorpions.
Another key tip for this technique is ensuring that you are only carrying the essentials in your inventory and that you’ve got the largest backpack possible. This is so you can collect as many Scorpions as you can carry. If you break your net, you can get another from the pilot for 100 Nook Miles.
If you get stunned by a Scorpion, you’ll appear back at the plane rather than your island, meaning you don’t have to worry about getting stunned and losing progress.
Once you’ve filled up your backpack with as many Scorpions as possible, either trade them in with Timmy and Tommy or keep hold of them for a little longer and trade them into Flick for an added 150% to profit.
