Make sure you prepare for the Flux Construct 1 boss
It sounds simple, but it’s easy to wander into a fight you’re not fully prepared for in this game. Before you take on the Flux Construct I in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, we recommend you do the following:
Make meals or elixirs – Use Hearty Truffles you find to boost your health recovery and make sure you have a few Cold Resistance elixirs on you. Alternatively, you can wear the Snowquill Armor Set you can find at Brazen Beak in Rito Village.
Fuse weapons – the last thing you need is your best weapons breaking mid-fight. Fuse a few strong Zonai swords with Diamonds to increase durability, or just make sure you’re stocked up.
Use arrows – Make sure you’ve got a few bows to hand and enough arrows to land a few shots.

How to beat Flux Construct 1 in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Eagle-eyed players might have spotted the Flux Construct’s weak point – the glowing Cube that powers the beast.
As it swings for Link, it’ll leave the core unprotected, leaving it open for Link’s attacks. It has a wide range of moves, which we’ll detail below.
- Double Fist – A typical Zelda boss move. Flux Construct I will swing both fists down towards the ground to squish Link. Dodge out the way, then go in on the attack, but watch out for the shockwaves afterwards.
- Fast fist – Once you’ve depleted its health, Flux Construct I will hit you with a faster Double Fist. The glowing cube has moved, so make your way around to the other side and use Ultrahand to pull it out and land a few blows.
- Cube form – Flux Construct I can transform into a giant cube, slowly chasing down Link across the platform. The best way to avoid getting squished is to shoot arrows at the glowing cube on its body from a distance. Alternatively, you can use Ultrahand to detach it.
- Floating square – When Flux Construct I is low on health, it will begin to float high in the air, ominously following you around the battlefield. Aim at the glowing cube on the underside with an arrow, then dash in for the attack whilst it is recharging.
- Hidden cube – Once its health is almost depleted, the Flux Construct I will transform into a bigger cube, concealing its weak spot. Use Ultrahand to remove the outer cubes until the glowing cube is visible.
You can get many rewards from defeating Flux Construct I, including Portable Pots, Zonai Charge and a Flux Construct I core that can be fused with weapons.
