Where to find Ice Pikmin in Pikmin 4
If you want to unlock more Ice Pikmin in Pikmin 4, one of the first areas you’ll want to look in is the caves. Certain underground areas have Ice Pikmin that you can find and add to your collection in the game.
For example, the Last Frost Cavern in Sun Speckled Terrace, one of the first caves you’ll enter, has a bunch of Ice Pikmin inside. If you find them in the cave you can add them to your overall Pikmin count.
Other areas you can find Ice Pikmin include Hectic Hollows, Subzero Sauna, Seafloor Resort, Drafty Gallery, Aquiferous, Frozen Inferno and more.
Simply exploring new areas will often result in finding Pikmin, so be sure to do as much exploration as you can while playing the game – it’s a lot of fun too!
How to get more Ice Pikmin in Pikmin 4
Another method for unlocking more Ice Pikmin in Pikmin 4 is obtaining the Ice Onion. This isn’t available until you reach Hero’s Hideaway, which is unlocked after you get 7000 Sparklium. The Ice Onion can be used to add more Ice Pikmin.
If you want a slightly easier method for the early game, you can use Oatchi’s scent ability to sniff out Ice Pikmin. If he finds any using the scent you can follow the trail and add more of these types of Pikmin to your team.
Finally, you can use the Ice Candypop Bud to change your Pikmin into Ice Pikmin. These flowers can change a Pikmin into a different type, and the Ice version of the Bud will change any Pikmin into an Ice Pikmin if you throw them at it.
