The 10th anniversary of GTA: San Andreas is coming up and it seems that Rockstar may be about to re-release the legendary game, albeit with improvements.
The title was pulled from the PSN, Xbox Marketplace and Steam store today, possibly giving way to a new version that will support achievements, improved graphics and higher resolutions. It should be noted that the PC was capable of higher resolutions than the console versions and generally better graphics.

Best guess is that Rockstar will be announcing a re-release very soon, most likely for the PS3 and Xbox 360, though PS4 and Xbox One versions would be happily received by many.
