For a limited time, Pokémon GO will be hosting events in honor of the release of Pokémon Brilliant Diamon and Shining Pearl by offering gen 4 themed Pokémon.
Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are set to launch on November 19th, but Pokémon GO fans will be able to snag the 4th gen starts ahead of time by participating in the events.
When does Pokemon BD and SP Event Begin?
The event starts on November 16th at 10 am local time and will continue until November 21st at 8 pm local time, but cosmetic items will be available for purchase in the Pokemon GO store starting on the 15th at 12 pm PT, which will be available until the end of the event on the 21st. These include adorable costume onesies for the gen four starters, Sinnoh clothes, and a Sinnoh backpack.
Brilliant Diamond will showcase the event’s first half, offering trainers a chance to encounter Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup in the wild, wearing Lucas’ red Shinnoh hat. During this time, there will be a higher encounter rate for Stunky, Seel Murrow, Poochyena, Aron, Bidoof, Kricketot, and Buneary. Field Task encounters will have the gen four starters wearing Dawn’s white Shinnoh hat, Burmy (Sandy Cloak and Trash Cloak), and Bagon as encounter rewards.
The second part of the even shifts to Shining Pearl starts on November 18th at 10 am, offering trainers a chance to catch the trio starters in the wild with Dawn’s white Sinnoh hat while providing the same starters with Lucas’ red hat as Task Research encounters.
There is also a higher chance of encounters for finding other Pokémon in the wild during this second part, including Pinsir, Misdreavus, Houndoour, Spheal, Bidoof, Kricketot, Buneary, and Glameow. The Task Research will award players with a chance to reencounter Burmy with either the Plant Cloak or Trash Cloak.
Collection of Challenges
A collection of challenges will be tied to the gen four starting Pokémon for this event. If trainers catch all six Pokémon (the three starters, each with either Lucas’ or Dawn’s hat), they will earn 1,000 experience, 3,000 Stardust, and an encounter with Froslass.
Raid Pokémon for this event will change between each half, but players will have a greater chance at hatching Bonsly, Budew, Happpiny, Mime Jr., or Riolu from 7km eggs throughout the event.
