Which Pokemon Should I Use In A Guzzlord Raid?
Guzzlord’s unique(ish) Dark/Dragon typing is currently only shared with Hydreigon’s evolutionary line. These are two incredibly powerful types, but it isn’t without weaknesses. If you plan on taking on Guzzlord in Pokemon Go, we recommend you bring a team of Pokemon who know at least one of these moves:
- Ice
- Fighting
- Bug
- Dragon
- Fairy
In Raid Battles, the quicker you win, the more Premier Balls you get! Make sure to bring your highest CP Pokemon, and come armed with Razz Berries to calm Guzzlord down quicker.

How Do I Catch Guzzlord In Pokemon Go?
Once an Ultra Wormhole has spawned on the map, you must wait until the Ultra Beast arrives. Once it spawns, you can enter the Raid Battle. Guzzlord has an erratic movement pattern, so don’t fling Pokeballs around in a panic. It’s better to observe its cycle for a moment and time your throws well.
Because of its Ultra Beast status, Guzzlord has a pretty low catch rate. Razz Berries can make it easier to catch. If you’re struggling to predict its movement cycle, a Nanab Berry can help slow its movement cycle. If you’re after extra Guzzlord candy, a Pinap Berry will grant you extra Candy when you catch it.
Your Buddy Pokemon can also lend a hand in difficult fights! If you and your Pokemon are ‘Great Buddies’, there’s a chance it might return deflected Pokeballs to you.
If Guzzlord escapes, it’s not the end of the world! Make sure you stock up on Max Revives and Potions, then try the Raid Battle again for a second chance.
