Sony and Guerrilla Cambridge showed off a new game at E3 2015, and that game looks bloody awesome.
Created with Project Morpheus in mind, Rigs is an online first-person shooter that pits players against one another in a fight to the death.
Answering some questions over on the Guerrilla Twitch stream, one of the developers of Rigs answered some fan questions, some of which will turn heads.
Asked if bots would be available in the game, the developer stated that there’s no announcement at the moment to give and that Rigs is about keeping players involved with each other.
The same holds true for single-player, though the developer did at least say that there will be single-player elements, but, once again, nothing can be announced just yet as those systems are still being worked on.
Now, how does Rigs run on Project Morpheus? Well, 60 frames-a-second is what the developer states it runs at. Whether this will be a good thing remains to be seen – Valve has stated in the past that to reduce nausea and keep the player from feeling dizzy with VR, 90 frames is what games should be running at.
There’s still no release date as of yet, but it sounds like it will launch alongside Project Morpheus as the developer, when asked about the release date, said “whenever Project Morpheus is out.”
And, finally, when asked about the difficulties in switching from traditional console development to creating a game for Project Morpheus, the developer didn’t really find there to be any issues, stating that it’s not that hard, just a little bit different and that everything is a little bit different when going from one platform to another.
