Twelve minutes of Mafia 3 gameplay footage have been released to the public via IGN First. The footage has previously been shown to members of the press behind closed doors at Gamescom 2015, and it shows off Mafia 3’s brand new protagonist, Lincoln Clay. Clay happens to be a Vietnam veteran, which comes in more than a little bit handy when it comes to shooting up the mob and brutally executing his foes.
The footage follows Clay as he uncovers a drug den and proceeds to blow the living daylights out of any poor sod who tries to defend it. There’s an interview in the background with Creative Director Haden Blackman, who discusses the game’s story, art direction, racial tensions, combat, driving mechanics, and more.
The game should be out sometime in 2016, but that’s as accurate as we can be. If you want to pre-order, you can do so here. Enjoy the footage and let us know what you think down in the comments.
