Just Add Water’s Stewart Gilray recently spoke on the PS Nation Podcast and revealed that he’s got some information on the long-awaited and mythical The Last Guardian.
“It’s a certain somebody’s software team and their guy’s team who worked on the architecture of the PS Vita and the PS4, I’m led to believe that he’s now running The Last Guardian’s finish.”
Glenn Percival, the show’s host, also stated that he thinks he knows what Stewart Gilray is speaking about, and that he’s also heard that this particular team is involved with The Last Guardian.
Obviously Mark Cerny and his team were behind the PS Vita and PS4 architecture, as well as the highly under-rated Knack, so it stands to reason that it is indeed Cerny and his bunch of technical wizards being talked about. This is very interesting. C’mon Sony, don’t disappoint us again this year.
[Update] Since we published this rumour, Stewart Gilray has come out and spoken against his own words by stating that what he said was “tongue-in-cheek.” In honesty, he sounded pretty genuine during the podcast and there wasn’t a hint of humour when the top of The Last Guardian was being spoken of, so whether Gilray is just trying to cover his tracks ahead of this year’s E3, or whether he’s even more dead-pan than Jimmy Carr, we can’t be sure.
