Ratchet & Clank will be making their grand appearance on the PS4 early next year but, despite the wicked-cool gameplay demo we got to see the other day, there are some nay-sayers who just can’t believe that Insomniac are actually putting out a full game at a lower-price point.
The independent studio recently announced Edge of Nowhere (from absolutely nowhere!) for the Occulus Rift platform. This got a few folks worried enough to take to Twitter to find out what’s going on at Insomniac Games and how they’re managing to juggle multiple projects at the same time.
The answer is rather simple according to Insomniac who stated that it’s all down to having “great project managers.” It’s not hard to believe either – the studio is still working on the PS4 Ratchet & Clank while supporting the strange and colourful Sunset Overdrive on Xbox One in addition to whatever ongoing work they have with the newly announced Edge of Nowhere.
Some are still debating as to whether Ratchet & Clank for PS4 is a full game due to the amount of work being done by the developer, but Insomniac is rather insistent that it is a “full campaign” and that it is “much longer than Into the Nexus” as well as being “much larger,” presumably in scope due to the extra horsepower the PS4 provides.
Fans should have a little more faith in the developer as it’s not just a hack job – Insomniac say’s that most of both of their internal studios are working on the PS4 adventure and that includes everyone who worked on the original games. For fans of the series this should be great news that the original gang are behind Insomniac’s first Ratchet & Clank for PS4. Still, there will always be those who will need to see to believe – and that’s OK.
