Hey, remember the PS Vita? You know, the console that Sony released a few years ago and promised a “home-console gaming experience” in your pocket? Turns out the Japanese platform holder was full of bullpoop, though at least it started with good intentions but ultimately the console never really took off. Cheers Sony, keep up the good work.
Since Sony’s abandonment of the handheld, indie developers have stepped in to churn out a fresh supply of games.
Well, we can add a few more titles to the expanding list of “games-that-don’t-push-the-Vita-to-its-limits.” 8floor Ltd has recently had a bunch of its mobile/PC games rated by the PEGI ratings authority for release on the PS Vita. The games are:
Royal Defense
Royal Defense: Invisible Threat
Pirate Solitaire
Knight Solitaire
Yeah, it’s not the most impressive list of games but at least it’s something… To be fair, Royal Defense is probably worth taking a look at if you’re into tower-defense/strategy games.
Maybe something a little more impressive will come along in the future? Nah, who’re we kidding – the Vita is dead as a dodo.
[Note: Judging by the comments below, the reaction to this one hasn’t been…pleasant? The author was making a few light-hearted jabs at Sony (c’mon, it’s not undeserved) but was not slighting the PS Vita in anyway. In hindsight, this could have been presented a little better and, rest assured, the lad will be getting a good lashing over this one. It’d be all too easy to erase the article and pretend it never happened, but that’s just plain deceitful so we’re holding our hands up (with heads hanging in shame,) and admitting a bit of a cock-up. We’re just uber disappointed in the lack of promises being made – and we’re not the only ones.
