Cast your mind back to E3 2014 and you may remember Microsoft announcing a remake of the Xbox original title Phantom Dust for the Xbox One.
Fast-forward a year and we’re no closer to seeing the action title hit Xbox One. Why? Well, to start with the team that was originally developing the game for the Xbox One got closed down, so that’s a bit of a problem. So why have we not heard much more about it?
Thankfully the guys at GamerTagRadio got the chance to put some questions to Xbox executive Aaron Greenberg and see if he can shed some more light on the game’/s state. Here’s what he had to say:
“It’s been a passion project for Phil and a lot of folks on the team and you know, we’re currently sort of exploring what we’re gonna do longer term with phantom dust. The project is not cancelled, but we don’t have an active developer on it right now, but it’s a project that – like many things – will take a little more time but at this point we’re not giving anymore updates on it.”
Hmmm. Very ominous. Best to just stick this one to the back of our minds for the time being.
