These days, it’s not enough to just release a game and be done with it. No, we’ve got expansion packs, microtransactions, day one DLC and a plethora of other ways to spend our money on any given game.
The days of a standard game are truly gone. Now we have collector’s editions being shoved under our noses by publishers in an effort to get us to fork out more than twice the cost of a standard game.
Ubisoft is particularly keen in getting as many versions of a game out as it can get away with – just look at the last 10 releases from the French publisher and you’ll see what we mean.
So it comes as no surprise, then, that there is a collector’s edition of The Division and that it’s now available to pre-order from today. How much will it cost? A staggering $159.99 from online retailer Amazon. Ouch.
If you don’t mind shelling out a bit extra, here’s what you’ll get:
GUARANTEED BETA ACCESS – Pre-Order your copy of Tom Clancy’s The Division for guaranteed Beta access. Beta starts in early 2016.
COLLECTOR’S EDITION – Includes the game, Season Pass, real agent watch, poster, agent armband, and art book.
Note: Xbox One players get access to the beta this December.
