Remasters and re-releases have come under a lot of fire in recent months, but one that seems to be impervious to the hate is the upcoming God of War 3 Remastered.
Fans of the franchise are eagerly awaiting the release later this month while only a small minority are making themselves known to be against the re-release of the PS3 classic.
It was previously announced that the PS4 version of God of War 3 would be running at 1080p while targeting 60 frames-per-second. We’ve seen a few boss fights from the soon-to-be-released titles and damn – it looks like the developers have reached their goal. You can check out the videos down below with Kratos running around in his undies, smashing some bosses to bits – all looking pretty smooth in the process. You can check them out down at the bottom of this article.
We also got the news that God of War Remastered will include ‘Photo Mode’ which allows player to take some fancy snaps in-game. Unfortunately it doesn’t look like it’ll be the fully fledged offering that we’ve become accustomed to. One user on NeoGaf has managed to score an early copy of the game and has since posted a few screenshots taken with the in-game Photo Mode. When asked how making pictures works, the user mentioned that players won’t be able to manipulate the game’s camera during Photo Mode – so you won’t be able to get a decent close up of Kratos’ ever-hard nips. Sorry folks.
Still, the game looks pretty bloody good, so if you’re on the fence as to whether this is an upgrade worth looking at, take a peek at the screenshots and boss fight battle videos down below.
God of War Remastered releases on PS4 this July 14th in the US and July 17th in the UK and Europe. You can pre-order your copy here (North America) and here (UK.)
[Update] The aforementioned images didn’t show up in the original story, so here they are. Apologies for the inconvenience – someone is having their games consoles priveleges taken away for a week.
