Sunday’s are usually pretty slow news days so we often end up posting all the deals we’ve spotted throughout the week but haven’t had time to write up. It’s not a bad thing. Gaming deals are great to report on and we’re happy to help our readers save a few pennies.
The PlayStation TV may not have set the gaming world alight, but for $49.99 it should set a fire under a few bums.
For those not in the know, the PS TV is basically a PS Vita without a screen. You can play a selection of PS Vita titles on the machine by hooking it up to a TV via a HDMI cable. It’s not just PS Vita games that are playable on the micro-console. The healthy PlayStation back-catalogue of PSP and PS One classics are also playable on the PS TV, though you’ll need a decent sized memory card to store your games and save data. (Read our PS TV review here.)
That’s not all. If you’ve got a PS4 lying around the house and find yourself begging for gaming time on the main TV, you can steam your PS4 games to the PS TV. Nifty.
So now that the details are out of the way, lets get on to the actual deal, shall we?
Online outlet GoHashtags is flogging the PS TV for $49.99 that includes not only the console, but also a DualShock 3 wireless controller, an 8GB memory card, a voucher to download The LEGO Movie Videogame as well as a HDMI cable and power lead.
Not a bad deal, eh? Amazon.com is selling the console on its own for $44.99, so this deal is a bloody bargain.
