For all of our button mashing readers it might come as a bit of a surprise, granted a pleasant one that according to a translated interview with producer Katshurio Harada it is still in development.
When questioned about the game and whether it had been canned, Harada exclaimed “that’s not true! I’ve been saying this since before, but the fact of the matter is that we’re at a pretty far stage into its development.”
The game was originally announced at Comic-Con five years ago and has been in development since. This is not the first time that Harada has had to re-confirm the anticipated fighting game’s continued development.
Even with the game that is supposedly at or nearing the end state of its development, the work being done on Tekken 7 and the impending release of Street Fighter V are undoubtedly effecting the release date to try and avoid splitting the player base.
It seems for now though you will eventually be able to hadouken Heihachi to your heart’s content.
