There’s a fresh firmware update for PS4 owners to download, but don’t get too excited about the latest console update – it’s just a stability update.
Yes, the PS4 is now even more stable. So stable that you should be able to balance it atop an upright penny without as much as a wobble. Ok, that’s just us having a sly dig at another stability update, but in all honesty we’re still pleased to see that Sony is working hard to make sure the console is as good as it can be.
The new firmware update is numbered 2.57 and should automatically download if you’re a PS Plus member. If you’re not, you’ll get a prompt asking you to download the update before you can go on the PS Store or play online.
Sometimes these ‘stability’ updates stealthily add or remove certain features, but we’ve not noticed any changes just yet. If you’ve noticed anything added or missing, let us know down in the comments section below.
