Can You Change The Time in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?
Unfortunately for many, there is no way to manually alter the time in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet as the day and night cycle in the game is not adjusted to our date and time. Even if you change the time of your system, nothing will be altered in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
If you try to return home and rest after talking to your character’s mother, the time does not change either. It makes little sense as the protagonist and their Pokemon would likely need more than a few minutes of rest.
Despite some seemingly apparent ways to alter the time in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, there is no way to change the time of day in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. However, there are ways to spend that time as you wait for the sun or the moon to rise.
- Did you know you can change your Pokemon’s tera type? Here’s how.
Ways To Spend Time
It is theorized that a single day in the Pokemon world takes around 25-30 minutes to pass. Therefore, it might be best advised to spend your time in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet wisely. One of the best ways to do this is by doing tera raids. They are events where you can team up with friends or even the computer AI to catch challenging Pokemon like Charizard. However, there are some Pokemon that are easier to catch as well. If you’re lower level, definitely go for tera raids that are three stars or less.
To begin a tera raid in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, go to the Poke Portal on the pause menu and then select “Tera Raid Battle.” Connect online and then a bunch of options will available to you like a notice board. You can also find tera raids within coloured crystals throughout the open world. If you’re able to succeed in a tera raid with your pals or AI friends, you can get a bunch of rewards, including Exp. Candy that can level up your Pokemon quickly. This is certainly going to be handy towards the latter half of the game, especially when you dive into Area Zero. By the way, one of the best ways to succeed in tera raids is by using an Azumarill with the Belly Drum move.
Another activity you can do is search for shinies. Press the Y button to open up the map and try to find outbreaks within the open world. They’re shown through the Pokemon’s icon on the map. Head over to these spots and you’ll see masses of the same Pokemon in one spot. This increases your chances of finding a shiny within the environment. If you can’t see a shiny, begin a picnic to reset the surrounding area. Maybe you’ll find a shiny Eevee, you never know.
