If you’re wondering how to beat Cassiopeia in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, we’ve got all the tips you need to know. Cassiopeia is the “big boss” of Team Star and the final boss of the Starfall Street sub-plot. Here’s everything you need to know about who Cassiopeia is in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet and how to beat them.
Cassiopeia’s Pokemon And Their Weaknesses
Upon raiding all of the Team Star bases and defeating their respective bosses, trainers will return to their school and discover that Cassiopeia is actually Penny in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Then, Penny will challenge them to a battle in order to disband Team Star once and for all.
Penny uses a team of six Eeveelutions. As a result, all of her Pokemon are single-type monsters with different resistances and weaknesses. Here’s an overview of each of Penny’s team members and what types they are weak to:
- Umbreon – Bug, Fairy, and Fighting
- Vaporeon – Electric and Grass
- Jolteon – Ground
- Flareon – Ground, Rock, and Water
- Leafeon – Bug, Fire, Flying, Ice, and Poison
- Sylveon – Poison and Steel
How To Beat Cassiopeia In Pokemon Scarlet And Violet
In the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Cassiopeia fight, the biggest threat is Penny’s ace, her Sylveon. While the rest of her Pokemon are all level 62, the Sylveon is level 63. In addition, it is capable of Terastallizing in order to power up its Fairy-type attacks even further.
As a result, players will want to bring their own level 63 Pokemon that can Terastallize to defeat Penny’s Sylveon. A great candidate is Revavroom. Since it is a Steel/Poison-type, a Terastallized Revavroom will be able to seriously threaten Sylveon with either of its natural Tera types. Other potentially useful candidates included Tinkaton and Grafaiai.
As for the rest of the team, players should note that some of Penny’s Pokemon have coverage moves to cover their weaknesses. For example, her Umbreon can challenge Fighting-types with Psychic, while her Vaporeon can fend off Grass-types with Aurora Beam.
Here are some other strong Pokemon trainers can use to counter each of Penny’s Pokemon:
- Umbreon – Lokix or Dachsbun
- Vaporeon – Pawmot
- Jolteon – Camerupt
- Flareon – Drednaw
- Leafeon – Talonflame or Frosmoth
