These days it’s common for a beta to replace an actual demo, especially in multiplayer focussed games, so it’s not really surprising that EA’s Star Wars Battlefront will be getting a multiplayer beta before its release this November 17th.
Posting over on the official Star Wars Battlefront blog, EA’s revealed that the beta will be coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC (via Origin) sometime in early October, though there’s no date just yet, we’ve been promised more news in the coming weeks.
The Star Wars Battlefront beta will include three game modes for players to take on a test run. The first is Walker Assault on Hoth where 40-players can battle it out as well as take control of Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker. In addition to Walker Assault, you’ll also be able to give the Survival Mission on Tatooine a go with a buddy in a fight against waves of incoming Storm Troopers.
Finally, there’s the new game mode ‘Drop Zone’, though no details have yet been shared on what this one entails, but there will be some new information in the next couple of weeks.
We’re rather looking forward to Star Wars Battlefront, but there’s still the edgy caution that comes with any licensed title, but at least we’ll be able to give it a go before actually putting any money on the table.
Will you be giving Star Wars Battlefront a go in the beta? Of course you will.
