Beta’s have slowly become the new demos, but at a cost. Usually you’re required to pre-order the game in order to get beta access, or even buy a different game to get a beta code, but not with Star Wars Battlefront.
The Battlefront beta will be open to all players without needing to pre-order the game, Star Wars Battlefront Community Manager Mat Everett stated on Reddit.
“You do not need to pre-order. But you will need to register once registration is made available. Do not be fooled by fake beta sign-up sites. Our beta registration will live on our official site here: starwars.ea.com.”
Good news right? The Star Wars Battlefront beta will take place sometime in early October, but there’s no confirmed date just yet. The beta will be available on PS4, Xbox One and PC, though PC players will only be able to access the stress-test via EA’s Origin service.
The beta will include two game modes and will also let players take control of Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker. Bring it on.
Will you be giving the beta a go now that you know you don’t need to pre-order, or are you completely uninterested in what DICE has in store for Star Wars fans? Let us know down in the comments section below.
