Welcome to my top 7 Wii games you must own or at have at least played list. As you may or may not know the Wii U is due to launch 7 days from today here in Europe/UK and I thought what better way to end the era of the Wii than listing and reminiscing the 7 top titles every Wii/Wii U owner should own.
So… what’s number 7? Well if the image to the left isn’t enough for you it’s Zack and Wiki: Quest for Barbaros Treasure’. Capcom’s fantastic point and click adventure, that chances are you’ve never played.
So what is Zack and Wiki? In short Zack and Wiki is about a pirate named Zack and his monkey friend Wiki. The two join a gang of pirates who call themselves ‘The Sea Rabbits’, the two find a skull which happens to belong to ‘Captain Barbaros’. The two set out to help the captain find the remaining cursed body parts and in return Barbaros promises the two that he will direct them to ‘Treasure Island’.
The game itself is a point and click puzzle game in which the player must work their way through the scene in a logical sense to reach the treasure at the end of each level, but don’t let the simplistic, bland run down put you off the game is not only gorgeous but very well designed and is hugely rewarding.
The game had great scores all across the board, but the sales were very poor, why?! Well, that’s a question for the people who overlooked this gem. A sequel would have, and still would be a very welcoming approach, but, I’m sure we can understand why Capcom hasn’t even mentioned this game since it launched back in 2008. Here’s hoping a sequel is potentially planned for the Wii U or any system rather.
Did you ever pick up Zack and Wiki? Have you played it? Agree/disagree with my number 7 entry? Let us know in the comments section below.
