Way back yonder in the days of yore, a glitchy little game known only as Battlefield 4 was unleashed into the world. Now, Battlefield 4 was developed by a much respected team known collectively as DICE, but this time around they just couldn’t deliver the goods (although we don’t know what everyone was complaining about because we ran into no problems on the PS3). For months, nay – years – Battlefield 4 made headline after headline but hardly ever in a positive light.
Alas all changed for the brave Battlefield 4 and eventually the lag and glitches went away taking with them the negativity. Was it too late for the game? For a time it seemed so for the negative headlines seeped away but no positivity replaced them, it seemed as if Battlefield 4 was lost to the ages. However sometimes things that should not have been forgotten are lost only to return in the most unlikely of ways. Through user designed maps, or at least maps that users helped to design.
Thanks to the Community Map Project DICE was able to work with their fans to deliver the map the people wanted and in turn spark, some positive headlines. For the map, known solely as “Operation Outbreak,” is to be given away for free this Fall and its jungle environments seem to harken back to the golden age of Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Now with Battlefield 4 being painted in a positive light the good, and redeemed, people of Dice are free to finish their work on the highly anticipated title Star Wars Battlefront.
