There’s one thing that gamers love above all else: customisation. Whether it be in a video game by changing the look of their character, or simply apply a sticker or two of their favourite band to their controller (The Killers, naturally), gamers love to make things their own.
There’s a new way to play thanks to the techno wizards at Cyber Gadget. If you love your Xbox One but prefer the PS4’s DualShock 4 controller, you can now use it on your preferred console, and vice versa.
The gadget by the Japanese firm basically plugs into a console and then lets you plug in your preferred controller into the gadget. We’re not entirely sure how it works, but the fact that it does at all is pretty impressive.
It’s not just limited to the next-gen controllers either; you can plug in just about any controller and it should work, though we can’t guarantee that as we’ve not tested it ourselves. Obviously some functionality will be missing with certain controllers and their various input methods (DualShock 4 touchpad) but it’s a nifty little thing all the same.
For the moment this is only available in Japan, but you could import it or wait for a western release, though you may be waiting a while on that one… The device will go on sale from October 12th, if you’re interested.
[Update] Sorry Nintendo lovers, you’ll not be plugging in your controllers into an Xbox One or PS4 anytime soon: they’re not compatible.
