The Pokemon GO Crackling Voltage event is all about Electric-type Pokemon. Headlining the event is the return of the Legendary Pokemon, Tapu Koko, to Pokemon GO! The Pokemon GO Crackling Voltage event also introduces a couple of brand-new Shiny Pokemon to Pokemon GO.
Pokemon GO Crackling Voltage Event: Dates And Times
The Pokemon GO Crackling Voltage event kicks off Friday, January 27, 2023, at 10:00am. Trainers will be able to enjoy Crackling Voltage for a little over a week before it expires on Sunday, February 5, 2023, at 11:59pm local time.

Pokemon GO Crackling Voltage Event: Wild Encounters
While Crackling Voltage is active, Trainers will frequently encounter the following Pokemon in the wild:
- Ekans
- Magnemite
- Grimer
- Electrike
- Stunky
- Blitzle
- Ferroseed
- Helioptile
- Grubbin
While less common, Beldum and Dedenne will also be present in the wild during the Pokemon GO Crackling Voltage event.
Besides Stunky and Grubbin, there’s a slim chance you’ll encounter a Shiny variant of these Pokemon in wild encounters. Crackling Voltage marks the first time Shiny Helioptile will be available to capture in Pokemon GO.

Pokemon GO Crackling Voltage Event: Raids

Three-Star Raids
- Venomoth
- Galarian Weezing
- Jolteon

Five-Star Raids
- Tapu Koko
- Registeel
Mega Raids
- Mega Gengar
- Mega Aerodactyl
Tapu Koko will appear in Five-Star Raids from January 25, 2023, to February 1, 2023, at 10:00am local time. After that, Registeel will take over the Five-Star Raids, up until February 8, 2023, at 10:00am local time. Registeel caught during this time will know the Charged Attack Zap Cannon.
As for Mega Raids, Trainers will encounter Mega Gengar from January 25, 2023, to February 1, 2023, at 10:00am local time. Then, from February 1, 2023, at 10:00am to February 8, 2023, at 10:00am local time, Mega Aerodactyl will take over Mega Raids.
All the Crackling Voltage Raid Pokemon, minus Jolteon and Venomoth, may appear as Shiny on rare occasions. This is the first time in Pokemon GO history that Trainers can encounter a Shiny Tapu Koko.

Hatching 7 km Eggs during the Crackling Voltage event will net Pokemon from the list below:
- Alolan Sandshrew
- Skarmory
- Blitzle
- Stunfisk
- Galarian Stunfisk
- Helioptile
- Dedenne
With a little bit of luck, any of the Pokemon listed above, besides Stunfisk, can hatch as a Shiny!
Pokemon GO Crackling Voltage Event: Field Research Task Encounters
Completing Field Research tasks while the Pokemon GO Crackling Voltage event is live will result in encounters with the following Pokemon:
- Voltorb
- Hisuian Voltorb
- Plusle
- Minun
- Emolga
- Helioptile
If you’re lucky, Voltorb, Plusle, Minun, and Helioptile might even appear in their Shiny forms!
