Bugger grips. This isn’t the new we were looking for. EA and DICE have confirmed our worst fears: Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst has been delayed. That’s not really our worst fear, but it’s up there.
Originally slated to release on February 23rd, Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst will now release on May 24th, 2016, Senior Product Manager at DICE for Mirror’s Edge, Sara Jansson, explains that the team want to make sure that the game is in as good a condition as possible when it releases. A deeper story; a bigger and better world to play in, and some kick-arse fighting mechanics are what we’ve been promised and DICE wants to deliver it. Jansson goes on to announce that DICE has “made the decision to bring Mirror’s Edge to the world starting May 24, 2016. We will use these few extra months to make sure that when you step into the massive City of Glass and experience the rise of Faith, it’s as entertaining, impressive, and memorable as it can be.”
It’s a bit of a bummer, sure, but at the end of the day, a more polished product is always preferable to a glitchy mess. Lets hope those extra few months of work do the game some good, then.
Disappointed that you’ll be waiting a bit longer to step back into the running shoes of Faith? Obviously you’re devastated, so go ahead and cry below.
