Nintendo recently announced that the original three Pokemon games would be coming to the Virtual Console. Good news, right? Chances are that your old GameBoy Colour is out of commission and that finding a working cartridge of each game is a pain in the neck, so it’s nice to have the option to buy them digitally.
The bad news is that they’re fairly expensive for games that are relatively ancient by today’s standards as they released over 15 years ago. How time flies, eh?
If you want to get your digital code now, you can do so via Amazon. The online retailer is already taking pre-orders for the three games and they’re charging $9.99; a bit more than your standard Virtual Console games, then. Still better than paying almost $300 for an old game…
It’s good that these classics will now be accessible to those who maybe didn’t get the chance to play them back in the day, and those who just want to replay their childhood favourites.
Pokemon Yellow, Red, and Blue will release on February 27th, 2016. Nostalgia awaits.
