Yesterday, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe’s Fred Dutton took to the PlayStation Blog to let all the PlayStation gamers know what to expect in the store update. New games, new DLC etc. One game that stood out – or rather it didn’t – was Super Star Wars and its lack of being listed as part of the update. What gives?
Nothing. All is well in the universe as the game has since been released as a standalone on the PSN for PS4 and PS Vita. It’s a tiny download at just over 42MB on the PS4, and 39MB on the PS Vita.
It’ll cost you a sweet £7.99/9.99EU, though it’s a cross-buy game so if you buy Super Star Wars on your PS Vita, you can download it at no extra cost on the PS4, and vice versa. It may seem a little steep for a game that’s practically ancient, but Star Wars fans will be happy enough to have a slice of old gold. For PS Vita owners it’s also a welcome addition to the console’s catalogue as it’s light on the memory card and plays like a dream using the Vita’s D-pad.
Have you been having a whale of a time with Super Star Wars, or has the brutal difficulty of this old-school platformer sent you down the path of the Dark Side? Force a comment down below.
