The latest offer in Sony’s 12 Deals of Christmas promotion has gone live with Need for Speed getting a sizable reduction – in mainland Europe at least. UK residents have to make do with 38% off the usual price, whereas mainland European players get a nice round 50% reduction.
That’s not all, though. Sony is still not happy with how much money its taken from gamers’ wallets this December, so the firm has decided to add a few other discounts into the fray. Cheeky. There’s Destiny (but you already know that) on PS4 and PS3, but there are a few other worthy mentions as well.
PixelJunk Monsters: Ultimate HD (the best tower-defense game you’ve never played) is down from £9.99 to £3.99. If you’ve any love for the genre then you owe it to yourself to give this one a shot. However, it’s only fair to tell you that you’ll probably end up having a mental breakdown, much like your host here details in The Games Cabin’s review of the game.
Then there’s the wacky Pixel Hunter on the PS Vita that has been brought down a couple of pounds to £4.29. Worth a look in if you’ve not heard of this one.
Tower of Guns also gets a discount on PS4 and PS3, which sees the price come down from £11.59 to a reasonable £7.99. If you’re a PS Plus member then you probably got this one a few months back when it was offered as a PS Plus freebie. If you’re a recent PS Plus subscriber, then you’ll be able to get an extra discount, which means you’ll only pay £5.67.
The rest of the discounts are as follow:
Frozen Synapse Prime on PS3 – Was: £13.99 Now: £3.99
Unmechanical: Extended Edition – Was: £7.99 Now: £4.99
Q.U.B.E – Director’s Cut – Was: £7.99 Now: £3.99
And that’s your lot for now. We’ll be keeping our eyes and ears peeled for sneaky, unannounced discounts on the PlayStation Store, as well as elsewhere in the world of gaming.
