Sony’s PlayStation VR headset still doesn’t have a price or a release date, but that hasn’t stopped the company from talking up the product. Kaz Hirai, Sony’s CEO, spoke with the BBC at CES 2016 in Las Vegas recently and revealed that there are a surprisingly large number of titles being developed for the next-gen headgear.
“I think the fact that we have more than 200 developers signed up to the PlayStation VR programme who are working on probably about 100 or more titles is a testament to the kind of support we’re getting from the content creation community, so I think that it’ll be a great product.”
It all sounds good and well, but remember when Sony said that there were over 100 games in development for the PS Vita? Remember when the likes of Rockstar, EA, Ubisoft, 2K, and many others were supposed to be on-board with creating games for the Vita? Yeah, we all know how that went. Hopefully PlayStation VR won’t end up going the way of the Vita, but Sony doesn’t exactly have the best track record. R.I.P PlayStation TV…
