Rollercoaster Tycoon World hasn’t gotten off to the best start in life: the game isn’t due out until the end of the month but some stores in Germany are already selling the game as a full-priced release.
The problem is that while stores such as Saturn, Media Markt and others are selling the games, players aren’t actually able to access the game until March 31st. The game is a boxed release, though all you get in the box is an activation code for Steam. However, players are finding that they’re unable to activate their Steam codes.
We can confirm that the game is actually on sale in German stores today (your host here resides in Germany and actually saw the game yesterday, though it didn’t trigger anything in his over-worked brain) though we won’t be paying for a box that says DVD when all you actually get is a code. Poor form, poor form indeed.
The game’s German distributer has since taken to Facebook to apologise for the happenings. Below you’ll find the original statement and then the translated version by us:
We would like to apologise to you all because that RollerCoaster Tycoon World is not yet playable today. Atari has informed us that the activation of the Steam-Keys will be on March 31st.
Fuer unsere Deutsch leute:
Maerz. Es ist nicht gute arbeit vom Atari.
