Originally set to release just a week from now, Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed for the Nintendo 3DS has now been pushed back to February 2013.
The news comes straight from Nintendo and their listing of upcoming games, which you can find here.
The reason for the delay? Well, to be honest, nobody knows. Sega haven’t even given an official statement on the matter, so it’s guesswork I’m afraid. Though, before the update on Nintendo’s website, a few retailers had already moved the game back to early next year.
Delays happen, more often than we would like, but they are as common place as anything else in the games industry. Hopefully it means that the game will be getting a bit of extra work done on it, and by releasing early next year it runs the chance of a greater success, rather than try to compete in the somewhat crowded holiday release window.
So, you can look forward to getting your Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed fix on your Nintendo 3DS in February 2013, no exact date given yet, but be sure to check back for updates!
