How To Get Tannin in New World?
Tannin is used for the Leatherworking profession in New World and many players wonder where to get Tannin. Unfortunately, Tannin can be hard to come by as it is only obtained from looting Supply Crates or Ancient Chests and their variations. This item is used to refine hides into leathers.
Tannin exclusively comes from Supply Crates of Ancient Chests. In each of these chests, you can get 8-14 Tannin. these chests have a 60 minute respawn timer, so remember this when you are planning your farming routes.
Where is Tannin in New World?
You can only get Tannin from these crates and chests if they are in Zone levels 0-38. This means that you must be in First Light, Monarch’s Bluffs, Everfall, Windsward, Cutlass Keys, Brightwood, or Weaver’s Fen to be able to obtain it. In the following section, we show the best paths to follow to loot all the supply crates and ancient chest you can.
First Light – Where to Get Tannin
In First Light you can find Sand Flux, Crossweave, Tannin, Weak Solvent, and Coarse Sandpaper from Supply Crates and Ancient Chests. If you are starting at the settlement, head north to the indicated concentrated areas to maximize your efficiency while farming supply crates and ancient chests.
Cutlass Keys – Where to Get Tannin
In Cutlass Keys you can also find Sand Flux, Crossweave, Tannin, Weak Solvent, and Coarse Sandpaper from Supply Crates and Ancient Chests. There aren’t a ton of great spots in Cutlass Keys for these ingredients, but if you head south of town, you can gather up many spawns and head further south. If you go to the south-east area of the region, you will also find large chests too.
Monarch’s Bluffs – Where to Get Tannin
In Monarch’s Bluffs you can also find Sand Flux, Crossweave, Tannin, Weak Solvent, and Coarse Sandpaper from Supply Crates and Ancient Chests. If you head east from the settlement, there are many crates in the area. Monarch’s Bluffs doesn’t necessarily have many super tight clusters of crates, but they are fairly easy to traverse and collect.
Windsward – Where to Get Tannin
In Windsward you can also find Sand Flux, Crossweave, Tannin, Weak Solvent, and Coarse Sandpaper from Supply Crates and Ancient Chests. The main area you will want to focus on is north of the settlement. You can go into the ancient area and obtain a lot of chests. There is a small area to the south as well that you can go to if you are in the area.
Everfall – Where to Get Tannin
In Everfall you can also find Sand Flux, Crossweave, Tannin, Weak Solvent, and Coarse Sandpaper from Supply Crates and Ancient Chests. You can either hit the ancient ruins just south east of the settlement, or even better, you can head north-east and follow the drawn area. Create a loop here and hit all of the spawn points!
Brightwood – Where to Get Tannin
In Brightwood you can also find Sand Flux, Crossweave, Tannin, Weak Solvent, and Coarse Sandpaper from Supply Crates and Ancient Chests. There aren’t too many closely located farming areas for these crates, but we have identified four main areas you can focus on if you are nearby.
Weaver’s Fen – Where to Get Tannin
In Weaver’s Fen you can find Sand Flux, Crossweave, Tannin, Weak Solvent, and Coarse Sandpaper from Supply Crates and Ancient Chests. There isn’t a clear path to take, but there are four general areas you can focus on as well as a string of crates through the center of the region you can grab as well.
What is Tannin Used For in New World?
Tannin is used to turn hides into leather. After you skin animals in New World, you can bring their hide to a Tannery in town and refine the hide into a leather, depending on the tier.
