Developer Bugbear Entertainment and publisher THQ Nordiq have announced today that Wreckfest will be smashing and crashing on the go when it releases on Nintendo Switch on June 21st, 2022.
Originally released on PC, PS4, and Xbox One before receiving a next-gen port on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, Wreckfest has been a success among fans with its fun, destructive gameplay. It’s a modern classic and it harkens back to the days of Demolition Derby. I actually reviewed the game a while back on PS5 and thoroughly enjoyed it – and I still do!
The Nintendo Switch version will be feature complete, including the full single-player campaign mode as well as multiplayer gameplay for up to 16-players. Unfortunately, Nintendo Switch players will be limited to 30FPS, though this is kind of expected with big games being ported to the super lightweight console.
Wreckfest for Nintendo Switch releases on June 21st, 2022 as a digital release and a retail package, with both editions costing the same price: $39.99/€39.99/£34.99.
Below is the Nintendo Switch Wreckfest trailer, and then below that is my previous review for the PS5 edition if you’re curious to see what I make of the game. I’ll probably end up doing the Switch review, so consider it a pre-cursor, if you like.
