Lucky’s Tale, the VR adventure game starring the titular fox, will be releasing on PSVR this April 7th, though an official announcement has yet to be made.
Instead, this news is coming by way of the PlayStation Store which lists Lucky’s Tale under the PSVR section of the store, though only on the console version of the store; the game is now viewable on the web browser version of the PlayStation Store.
Lucky’s Tale began life as an Oculus Rift exclusive back in 2016 before being ported to Oculus Quest 2 and Steam VR in 2021. The PSVR edition was announced late last year for a 2022 release. As of writing, there is no announcement for the PSVR release date, though it’s most likely coming sometime today or tomorrow and the store page has gone live a little earlier than intended.
Lucky’s Tale is a VR 3D adventure game where players guide Lucky through colourful levels while platforming and tail-whipping basic enemies. It was criticised back in the day for being a bit too simplistic, and that’s not likely to change here in 2022, but I can say from experience that it’s an honest-to-goodness platformer that’s fun and easy to play. If you’ve got little gamers, they’ll surely enjoy Lucky’s original adventure if they’ve had fun with the subsequent non-VR sequels.
