What a shame. The ESA has confirmed that E3 2022 has been fully cancelled, meaning that there will be no physical or digital event.
To be fair, as I’ve previously said, the writing has been on the wall for E3 2022 for a long time, with the ESA being uncharacteristically quiet about whether the event would go ahead. Now we have the confirmation.
In a statement to IGN, the ESA said:
We will devote all our energy and resources to delivering a revitalized physical and digital E3 experience next summer. Whether enjoyed from the show floor or your favorite devices, the 2023 showcase will bring the community, media, and industry back together in an all-new format and interactive experience.
We look forward to presenting E3 to fans around the world live from Los Angeles in 2023.

It’s a shame but it was expected. Given that The Rona is still on a rampage, it’s better to be safe than sorry. Here’s hoping we can all get back to the show halls next year.
