Here’s a couple tips to help you get started in the newly released game from Stunlock Studios: V Rising!
Party Members can complete Quests objectives.
While playing with friends or clan mates, many quests that require you to build and interact with something don’t require multiple objects to be built. A friend can create the object and you only then have to interact with it to finish the quest!
Place your base near Resources
Make sure you take advantage of consistent harvestable resources such as Copper and Mineral Deposits. It’s important to note that these nodes will respawn and are randomized. At any point it could respawn as Stone or Gemstones or Sulphur.
Wolf Form is Lowkey OP
Traversing the map in Wolf Form is faster but did you know that many enemies, animals in particular won’t attack you? Even Bosses, such as the Ferocious Bear, won’t attack either, allowing your team to get into position and get use few abilities freely.
Craft a Mist Brazier to avoid the Sunlight
Early on in the game you only start out with a wood fort without a roof. Placing a Mist Brazier will block out the sunlight. Mist Braziers consume Bone, toss any excess in here and remember toggle it off at night to conserve resource usage.
Travel in Shade to Avoid Sunlight
Even the smallest obstacle that provides a shadow on the ground will provide shade from sunlight, even if it looks like your character is not fully covered. Many main pathways across the map will have trees and other objects that provide constant shade from sunlight. Travel through these areas to avoid taking damage from the sun! Be careful as difficult enemies, such as the Stone Golem, may be lurking nearby.
Also, Graveyards and Waygates are locations that are 100% cast in shadow. Graveyards however have enemies that respawn and attack you so try not to go afk here.
Stone Golems can help Gather Resources
While these Large enemies can deal a lot of damage, one of their moves in particular will break down harvestable resources. This can help clear path of Trees and Rocks so that you can collect Lumber and Stone fairly quickly.
Drink “Worker” Blood Type
Take note of these enemies before you go out on a mission to gather more resources, such as Iron. Drinking their blood can improve Resource Gathering speeds and quantities by a significant amount!
Rename your Inventory Chests
To help keep your stored items in order and remember where everything is without having to open them every time, you can edit the name of the chest. Click on this icon in the top right corner of the menu when accessing a chest.
Compulsively Count Inventory
Once an item has been placed inside a chest, clicking on the “Compulsively Count” button in your character’s inventory menu will automatically place more of those items into that chest.
Build a Vampire Lockbox
When you level up and are finally able to craft this item do it immediately! This Chest allows you to store 14 items in it and other players will not be able to raid it! Put your recently upgrade items in here or other more valuable resources
Emotes Panel
There is an Emotes Panel that allows your character to perform simple gestures to quickly communicate with other players instead of text or in lieu of a microphone. Simply hold the Left Alt Key and move your mouse to the desired emote.
Further Customize your Character
Building a Mirror and interacting with it will allow you to customize your character. Craft the mirror from the “Universal Building” Tab.
Hidden Fast Travel Locations
Cave Passages are essential fast travel teleporters which allow you to travel across the map to other Hidden Cave Passages. These also allow you to carry loot through them whereas the Vampire Waygates do not!
Get a Horse
Here’s a good area to grab a Horse that is mostly unguarded. Don’t forget to give them “Water-filled Canteen” in their inventory. Press “Tab” while near the horse to access their inventory, place water in here or supplies to increase your carrying weight and also check on their stats. Note that each Horse has different stats too. Steering with the horse is a bit weird but when you enable auto-run you can steer with the right mouse button.
Fishing can provide Cosmetic items.
Any Weapon can harvest all resources of the same level.
For instance, Copper Swords can break down Sulphur Stones, you don’t necessarily need a mace to gather them.
Don’t Eat Unsullied Hearts
Eat Tainted Hearts to your… hearts content. But don’t eat the Unsullied Hearts. These are used at a Blood Press to craft Greater Blood Essence.
Don’t be afraid to move you garden
Dismantling placed gardens will still provide the seed that you planted it with. It will stop the growth progress but at least you can replace the plot whenever and wherever you want to.
