Daisy is a beloved character in the Mario universe, though she’s often reserved for spin-off titles, and rarely makes an appearance in mainline entries. However, for some reason, Daisy isn’t playable in Mario Strikers: Battle League at launch, which has left many fans of the princess disappointed. There’s still a chance that Daisy could make an appearance in the future, as Nintendo has adopted a post-launch update strategy for other Mario sports titles, so it would make sense to do the same for Mario Strikers: Battle League.
At the moment, Battle League has very little content outside of its online matchmaking – this is likely due to the previously mentioned post-launch updates that Nintendo plans to roll out in the coming months. For example, another sports title, Mario Golf: Super Rush was extremely light in content at the beginning, but Nintendo started to introduce new locations and characters frequently shortly afterwards. Additionally, the big N released exclusive costumes for characters, which could be unlocked by playing ranked matches.
Is Daisy Coming To Mario Strikers: Battle League?
Taking all of this into account, it’s probably safe to say that Daisy (and other playable characters) will be released alongside new stadiums and cosmetic items. Since launch, many players have been speculating that Daisy was ultimately replaced by Rosalina in the launch roster, as the galactic queen of the Lumas is considered to be one of the most popular characters in the entire franchise. This is evident through online matchmaking in other Mario games, especially Mario Kart.
Nevertheless, it’s still unusual that Daisy isn’t playable in Mario Strikers: Battle League – she’s been a staple part of the spin-off series since its first instalment on the GameCube. Hopefully, fans will be able to scream, “It’s me Daisy!” down their microphones soon, though Nintendo’s voice chat service is somewhat strange, so you might want to take your loud screams over to Discord.
Most of the game’s player base is spending their time in the Strikers Club mode, where they can create their own Football team with their friends. Although Nintendo has yet to announce an official release window for Daisy, expect to see a ton of her in this mode when she is inevitably made available.
