Thanks to the hard-working folks over at the PlayStation Blog, we’ve got some new information on the upcoming inFAMOUS: Second Son for the PlayStation 4, as well as some new high-resolution screenshots to gawp at.
Check out the screenshots below then read on for the information, if you ever manage to pull yourself away from the awesome images that is…
The story of inFAMOUS: Second Son takes place seven years after the first two inFAMOUS games, inFAMOUS and inFAMOUS 2.
You’ll be playing as 24-year-old cocky but likeable Delsin Rowe this time around instead of Cole, and with a change of character comes a change of power. Delsin Rowe has some pretty cool abilities which include being able to “direct, manipulate, and even transform into smoke,” a power gained after he risked his own life to rescue passengers from a flame ridden bus disaster. What a champion.
The world has now gained a few more super-powered people, much to the annoyance of the American government who have now set up a whole new department to make sure that there isn’t a repeat of the incident that occurred in Empire City or New Marais. This new department is named the Department of Unified Protection and will feature heavily within the games narrative.
Unlike the previous inFAMOUS games, inFAMOUS: Second Son isn’t set in a fictional city, but instead takes place in the very real city of Seattle, where players will be able to explore and visit the many landmarks and glorious sights the spectacular city has to offer. Think of it like a digital interactive sight-seeing tour, but with lots of violence and super-humans. Sounds like a sight-seeing tour we’d all love to take!
inFAMOUS: Second Son was first shown off during the PlayStation meeting where Sucker Punch director, Nate Fox, revealed that the game would be coming to the PlayStation 4, along with a trailer to make our jaws hit the floor and stay there for a considerate amount of time.
If the trailer alone is anything to go by, the game looks set to be another fantastic exclusive, as it’s only coming to the PlayStation 4, but also possibly a showcase to other developers and how innovation can be done without killing off a franchise.
