As promised by EA, those who bought SimCity will be able to download a free game by way of compensation for the disastrous launch that saw millions of eager players suffer due to the always-online requirement which brought about unstable gameplay, long waits to get into the actual game and many more issues that are still being resolved.
For your troubles EA are offering a free game download from their online Origin marketplace, with Battlefield 3, Mass Effect 3 and Dead Space 3 being amongst the group to choose from.
Check out the list of games below:
- Battlefield 3
- Bejeweled 3
- Dead Space 3
- Mass Effect 3
- Medal of Honor Warfighter
- Need for Speed Most Wanted
- Plants vs. Zombies
- SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition
There’s some good freebies in there to choose from, but you only get one so choose wisely! Funnily enough, SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition is being offered and better yet, you’ll have no problems with the controversial always on DRM.
To get your hands on the free game being offered, you must register your SimCity game by midnight on March 25th else you’ll miss out on the compensation, so if you have bought SimCity, get online and register now and make sure you get what’s owed to you!
SimCity‘s launch was, to put it bluntly, a failure. EA are notorious for introducing the worst into video games, but at least you can profit from their idiocy on this occasion with a free game, so savour it. It’s a small victory, but it’s a start.
