Yesterday EA teased a new Need for Speed with an image of a suped-up police car, now they’ve officially announced that there will indeed be another Need for Speed; Need for Speed: Rivals.
The latest entry in the long-running racing series is being developed by a new studio named Ghost along with some help from the team at Criterion who revamped the series with Need for Speed Most Wanted.
Need for Speed: Rivals will be coming to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC sometime on the back-end of this year. There’s no solid release date as of yet, but we expect it’ll come out sooner than later.
Need for Speed: Rivals will take place in a vast open-world where you can either play as a bad-boy street racer or take down the speeding scum as a law enforcer, all done thanks to the powerful Frostbite 3 engine, the very same engine that powers Battlefield 3.
EA also released a teaser trailer for the upcoming racer, so if you would kindly point your peepers downwards, you’ll see what’s what.
A few months ago it was confirmed by EA that they would be releasing an annual Need for Speed game, it seems they’ve kept to their word and will be pumping out a few more over the next few years.
