It seems that months of speculation are finally over and we can put the rumours to rest; Kiefer Sutherland will be voicing Snake in Metal Gear Solid 5.
Well, sort of. At this point we can’t really be sure whether Konami and their golden child Kojima are playing with us, but according to Konami’s pre-E3 meeting today, Hideo Kojima announced that Kiefer Sutherland would be lending his vocal talents to Metal Gear Solid 5 in the form of Snake.
Again, I must stress that though this may seem like confirmation, take it with a pinch bucket of salt. Hideo Kojima is well-known for taking his loyal followers on some hectic rides in his games, and more recently he’s decided to taunt us all in real life with teasing hints.
Assuming this is indeed true, I think Kiefer Sutherland is a great choice. Of course there are many who will miss the series’ leading man – David Hayter – but c’mon, it’s Jack Bauer!
Kiefer Sutherland is probably best known for playing the troubled anti-hero in 24, which to my great pleasure is getting a 9th series spread over 12 episodes. Just wanted to slip that in there. Dammit!

What do you reckon? Another hoax by Kojima? Or do you think Keifer Sutherland is the actual voice? What about 24 series 9? I know it’s not gaming related, but it’s fantastic!
