Amazon has been flashing the cash with its recent purchase of online video game broadcasting site Twitch,
With the deal going through for a reported $970 million, Amazon is now becoming a major player with the industry after the launch of the Amazon Fire TV and development studio Double Helix, known for their 2D side-scroller Strider and Silent Hill: Homecoming.
What does this mean for the Twitch service? Hopefully more tools and faster services according to Twitch CEO Emmet Shear, who released a statement stating just that.
“We will be able to create tools and services faster than we could have independently. This change will mean great things for our community, and will let us bring Twitch to even more people around the world.”
For the time being, it looks like the beloved service won’t be undergoing any significant changes just yet, but expect Amazon to put their mark on the service within the coming months.
