As is the case with many multiplayer games these days, customising your character is a big selling point. Games such as Fortnite, Apex Legends, and now Splatoon 3 have all incorporated this feature to make other players jealous of their looks.
One of the modes where this is most prevalent is within Splatoon 3‘s Salmon Run mode. Jumping into this horde-based mode with friends and seeing everyone else with their flashy outfits can be demoralizing, but don’t worry, with this guide you will soon be the talk of the town in Splatoon 3.

How To Get New Salmon Run Outfits In Splatoon 3
Once you begin your time in Salmon Run, you’ll find you have nothing more than an orange work suit, which isn’t exactly the most visually appealing. It’s even worse when everyone around you is sporting some new kicks and teasing you.
Getting new outfits in Splatoon 3 is relatively easy, though, as long as you put in a bit of time. What you need to do is get through all three rounds of Salmon Run with a full meter. If you manage this, the King Salmonid boss will make their appearance, and this is where you’re going to need to pay attention.
Depending on how much damage you do, along with the time it takes to defeat them, you will be rewarded a varying amount of Fish Scales. It relates to your performance, meaning you will need to be at the top of your game and coordinate with your team for the best results.
Once you leave Salmon Run and return to the lobby, you’ll need to visit the Rewards Board. If you’re struggling to come across this, it can easily be found inside Grizzco. It’s here you’ll be able to purchase new outfits and kit out your inkling with a variety of different looks. If you want more Fish Scales, simply repeat runs in Salmon Run and you can quickly stack up the amount you own.
It’s also worth mentioning that Fish Scales are also used to buy other cosmetics, such as decorations, stickers, and banners, so be careful what you’re spending the currency on. Once it’s gone, it’s gone!
