What’s The Theme For Splatoon 3 Splatfest?
The first Splatoon 3 Splatfest sees three distinct themes available for players to partake in. Players will be required to choose one of the three and will be locked into that choice for the entirety of Splatfest.
This Splatfest’s theme is all to do with what you would bring to a deserted island. As a result, here are the three options players can choose from:
- Gear
- Grub
- Fun
Be sure you’re completely happy with your choice before confirming because as mentioned before, you will be unable to change once that decision has been made.
What Is Splatoon 3 Splatfest?
Splatoon has been incorporating Splatfest into its games for years now, and Splatoon 3 is no different. For the uninitiated, Splatfest is a limited-time event that sees you pick a team and compete against the other factions.
For the first time, Splatoon 3 has introduced a third tier, meaning the fight is about to become a lot tougher. The winning team is decided based on how many people chose that option, how many Turf War wins the team made, and player Clout, which you’ll earn depending on how much ground you manage to ink during a match.
New for Splatoon 3‘s Splatfest is the introduction of Tri-Color Turf Wars. These pit all three teams against one another in epic paint battles, and will see the leading team composed of a team of four, whilst the other two teams will be made up of two players. It may seem like a three-way battle, the smaller two teams will have to work together to emerge victorious.
You’ll also be gifted a Splatfest tee once you’ve chosen this team, but it’s only available for the duration of the event. By wearing this, you’ll be able to unlock new abilities, and while they’re not permanent, you can head to Murch just outside the lobby and pay for him to “scrub” the shirt. This will reset all the abilities, but also give you an ability chunk based on every ability you’ve gained. These chunks can then be used to upgrade an ability on your own gear.
Something else worth noting for Splatoon 3 is the addition of Conch Shells, which are available before the event starts, so long as the Splatfest booth has appeared in-game. Conch Shells are automatically earned during play and help boost your team’s score. Additionally, they can also be used to purchase items from the Shell-Out machine in the main lobby.

How Do You Join Splatoon 3 Splatfest?
Once the booth has appeared in your game and an announcement has been made that Splatfest is on the horizon, you will easily be able to do this.
Simply visit the booth manned by a jellyfish and speak to them. From here, you will be able to pick your team and begin working on becoming the top squad for Splatfest.
What Does The Winning Team Earn For Splatoon 3 Splatfest?
All this hard work for your team has got to attribute to something, right? You would be right in that assumption, as the winning team will be gifted Super Sea Snails.
While this doesn’t sound too exciting without any context, they’re actually extremely useful. With these items in tow, you will be able to unlock an extra sub-ability slot on your equipment, which is a huge bonus. It’s not just about earning the bragging rights, but also some meaningful rewards in the process.
