Techland’s upcoming open-world zombie fest Dying Light will be releasing a little earlier than previously anticipated, with the title pegged for a January 2015 release.
Dying Light looks like the kind of open-world zombie game we’ve all been waiting for and it holds some promise, but we can’t shake the doubts brought on by the fact it’s being developed by Techland whose previous credits include Dead Island and Dead Island Riptide, both of which were pretty mediocre at best and full of bugs.
Still, we won’t pass judgement until we’ve actually played Dying Light, which will be releasing on the PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC and will drop on January 27th in North America and January 30th for the Brits and their European cousins. If you decide to pre-order Dying Light you’ll be able to take control of a zombie and invade a buddy’s game as on of the walking dead.
Dying Light actually started life as a Dead Island sequel, but with all the new features and gameplay mechanics Techland decided to develop the title into its own game, separate from the Dead Island franchise.
