Cheapskates welcome…
The PS Vita may be a bit down on its luck as of late with very few blockbuster titles at the moment, but there’s still plenty of games to play, both indies and big releases with some bargains to be had. You’ll find a lot of the items mentioned below on the PS Vita PSN store, albeit at a higher price and not to mention the valuable memory card space they consume. For those who like to see their collection of games, physical copies are the way forward. You can lend them to a mate when you’re done, or even sell them on and put that cash towards a new game or two, though some games are only available through the PSN.

Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation – £14.86
Ubisoft’s first proper portable Assassin’s Creed experience is simply a joy to behold (read the review here). Sure it’s a small map and the story is a little bit wonky at times, but it’s one of the best Assassin’s Creed titles out there, even more so than it’s console counterpart, Assassin’s Creed III.
The PS Vita’s dual analogue sticks are best put to good use with a decent first-person shooter, so Killzone Mercenary is an essential purchase for anybody who owns a Vita. It received rave reviews, and for good reason too; it’s the best shooter you can get on a handheld (at the moment anyway.)
FIFA 15 on the PS Vita may not be quite the same experience as the beefy PS4 version, but its portability is what makes it truly great. Touch screen controls are a doddle and slipping one past the keeper using the rear touchpad makes you feel like a football legend every time.
10 Game Mega Pack on 16GB Memory Card – £30.24
Ok, I know I mentioned the value of physical copies at the beginning, but this is actually an incredible offer and I’d be letting you down if I didn’t mention it. The 16GB memory card comes with a voucher that lets you download 10 games, which are listed below.
1) LittleBigPlanet PS Vita – PEGI 7
2) Wipeout 2048 – PEGI 3
3) MotorStorm RC – PEGI 7
4) Little Deviants – PEGI 7
5) Frobisher Says! With Frobisher Says! Fun pack
6) Ecolibrium with Ecolibrium Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum game packs
7) Ratchet and Clank Size Matters (PSP game) PEGI 7
8) Lemmings – PEGI 3
9) Hungry Giraffe PEGI 3
10) Rotating Octopus PEGI 3
Nothing to sniff at either. A 16GB memory card alone will set you back £24.99, so for a few quid extra you may as well treat yourself to 10 games. LittleBigPlanet PS Vita and Wipeout 2048 come highly recommended. Be warned, do not take your Vita to the toilet if you intend on having a quick go of Lemmings. You’ll end up with dead legs, trust me.
It’s Borderlands 2, but on the go. I don’t think I need to say anything else, it speaks for itself.
