Rosalina is a beloved character within the Mushroom Kingdom, but her influence in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is a mystery. Here’s everything we know about Rosalina in the game.

Is Rosalina Playable In Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope?
At the time of writing, Rosalina is currently not confirmed to be playable in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope. However, there has been some speculation that she will join the team at some point in the story. Her Rabbid version is on the team and acts as a wizard-like addition to the squad. She is also poised like her counterpart. It is strange that a Rabbid isn’t matched up with their real version from the Mushroom Kingdom, so there is some speculation Rosalina will be playable at some point in the future.
Also, Rosalina is a fan-favorite character. She appears in both Mario Strikers: Battle League and Mario Party Superstars as someone that’s playable. She joined the prior game even before Daisy. We’d love to see Dixie Kong and Bowser Jr. in Mario Strikers: Battle League as well. She can certainly appear in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope.

Has Rosalina Been Taken Over By Dark Forces?
However, as the game takes place in outer space, this is a heavy suggestion that we’ll be revisiting areas of Super Mario Galaxy and that Rosalina plays a significant role in the narrative.
The hands in the above screenshot from the story trailer for Sparks of Hope are similar to the spectral form that Rosalina takes in the Super Mario Galaxy series. We also see blue eyes shifting to red in the story trailer. This leads to the idea that Rosalina has been taken over by a dark presence or the main antagonist of the game, Cursa.
What gives this theory merit is the following description for the game by Nintendo of America on the Story Trailer YouTube listing: “This unlikely team will need each other in order to triumph against Cursa, as together they are stronger,” it says. “But there is a deeper secret… shrouded in darkness, that could consume even the brightest light!” What if this secret revolves around Rosalina and her powers?
